Hungary’s agricultural characteristics are above average in terms of topography, climate and soil, which are especially favorable for both animal husbandry and crop cultivation. Farm animal husbandry is one of the main areas of agriculture, and the rise in living standards in the world is affecting this activity more and more. One of the cornerstones of sustainable agriculture is the modern agricultural building, an essential part of which is professionally applied thermal insulation.
Industrial livestock farms are becoming more and more common. Pig farming is typical in Hungary, which is mainly characteristic of areas with a moderate climate. The main goal of keeping farm animals is the realization of financial profit, but for this, conditions must be created for the animals so that they can develop properly and create value for people.
Commercial buildings can be built in a traditional way, or with a lightweight construction method typical of our time (steel structure), which is gradually replacing the traditional one. However, it is timely and necessary to renovate the existing buildings, usually made with traditional technology. Farming in Mászlonypusta near Dombóvár dates back to the beginning of the previous century. Animal husbandry has been the basis of their agricultural activity since the beginning. Thanks to continuous improvements, the buildings of the pig farm were renovated and modernized this year, during which the ceiling was thermally insulated with RAVATHERM XPS 300 ST.
This special thermal insulation of ours differs in shape from the generally used boards, its pin-groove edge design, its size almost twice as long and its usual excellent properties make it one of the most suitable products for the thermal insulation of agricultural buildings.
Thermal insulation of livestock buildings is now inevitable. A properly insulated barn helps create optimal conditions for raising and keeping animals healthy. Thermal insulation protects the building and livestock from extreme temperature changes both in summer and winter. For the health and development of the animals, it is important to control the air quality of the barn and maintain a high humidity level. Without thermal insulation, surfaces prone to condensation can easily form in various parts of the building. With RAVATHERM XPS thermal insulation professionally installed on the inside, the risk of condensation is reduced, and it is not expected at all on the surface of the thermal insulation. Thermal insulation of the right thickness, determined taking into account the geometrical data of the farmed animal and the building, helps to keep costs at an optimal level.
The surface of RAVATHERM XPS performs its task reliably in the long term without special protection or surface treatment. Its surface can be easily and easily cleaned and disinfected.
The professionally chosen and executed thermal insulation:
reduces heat loss and results in heating cost savings
helps to maintain livestock health
protects the structure of the building
improves productivity and economic operation.
