The question has repeatedly arisen among the residents of Veszprém as to what will happen to the successful summer program location, Gyárkert, in the future. Gyárkert will open to the public again, showing its winter face as well, and there will be a skating rink as well as several snow cone tracks. RAVATHERM XPS was installed under the ice layer of the track to ensure cooling.
Gyárkert Cultural Park, which is loud with concerts in the summer, will reopen as the Winter Factory Garden on December 8, it was announced at the press conference of the Veszprém-Balaton 2023 European Capital of Culture program. A 30 x 18-meter ice skating rink and 5 50-meter snow donut rinks await those interested – the latter will be opened for the first time in the town.
In order to efficiently cool the ice rink with a total area of 500 m2, it is necessary to install high-strength, moisture-resistant thermal insulation, so RAVATHERM XPS 300 SL extruded polystyrene foam with a thickness of 10 cm was placed under the ice layer.
