The International Business School (IBS) started the 2014/2015 academic year at Graphisoft Park. The listed buildings were converted mainly for educational purposes, the renovation started in 2012 and the students were able to occupy the campus last year.

This series of renovation programs also included the construction of a new student dormitory, the roof structure of which received RAVATHERM XPS thermal insulation.
In our previous news, we already wrote about how to install and renovate a two-layer inverted roof, and in this article we would like to present a specific building where our thermal insulation ensures the thermal protection of inverted roofs.
Nowadays, during the renovation of buildings, it is important that they comply with building energy regulations as much as possible, and the roof as a building structure plays a prominent role in this. The flat roofs of the buildings of Graphisoft Part reflect the modern design world.
However, this requires a special two-layer thermal insulation to protect the roof of the building in the long term and remain suitable for the increased and stricter thermal technical regulations. The roof of the student dormitory therefore received more than 1,000 square meters of RAVATHERM XPS 300 SL thermal insulation. It can be seen in the pictures that the installation was done in the way we also recommend:
-the lower layer is larger than the upper one
-the layers were installed overlapping
-on top of the thermal insulation, a vapor-permeable water-repelling film was placed under the load-bearing layer
– the slope conditions of the roof complement those stated in the EMS guidelines
