On August 20, the first phase of the Millenáris Széllkapu investment was completed. The renovated park is now 13,000 square meters; it has a 700 square meter lake, underground garage and 355 pre-grown trees, which significantly improve the air quality of the area. Like the Millenáris park, the Széllkapu park is completely barrier-free. There are bike storage, jack stations and electric charging stations in 3 different places. The thermal insulation of the various parts was solved with RAVATHERM XPS.
The Government decided to end the project back in 2013. The works began with the expansion of the area and functions of the Millenáris Park, as well as the renovation of the 2.5-hectare neglected area. An important role in the selection of trees for the park was played by the size (a considerable green area was required even when planting), the nativeness and the ability to adapt to the ecological characteristics of the city. They form a total of 17,000 m2 of green space. You can find decorative cherry trees, poplar trees, oak, pine, apple, birch and candle here. In addition to these, fifty thousand perennial plants, shrubs, bulbous plants and ornamental grasses. As a result of the Millenáris Széllkapu investment, a multifunctional community space was created with a variety of plants and an underground garage with 500 spaces below the surface. The park is excellent for pleasant walks, cooling off, and various leisure programs and events.
RAVATHERM XPS 300 and 500 SL materials were used in the side walls and supporting walls of the surface structures with green roofs – stairwells, catering units. It is an environmentally friendly, excellently workable material, and is often used due to its good load capacity.
