The Industrial Floor Design and Construction Rules, a technical construction guideline, has been published. The standard fills a rather gap, as no uniform construction standard has been prepared for this purpose so far.
Industrial flooring involves significant construction costs, up to one-fifth of the total investment price. Subsequent repairs can cause huge losses due to production downtime, which is why it is important that the design and construction of industrial floors is regulated by a verifiable guideline. The application of the guidelines is of course voluntary, but it can provide great security to customers and contractors if they are recorded in a contract between them.
The guideline was prepared by members of the Screed and Industrial Flooring Association (EIPE), based on an English standard. It was developed with the participation of many experts and was adopted after extensive consultation.
To meet the energy requirements of industrial floors, we need thermal insulation that not only retains its thermal insulation capacity in the long term, but is also able to withstand the extremely high static and dynamic loads acting on it. RAVATHERM XPS 500 and 700 SL products have been successfully installed in numerous projects due to their outstanding strength values.
