The currently largest office building in the country, the Telekom headquarters, was built in two and a half years, the green roofs of the 100,000 square meter building were covered with 2,000 cubic meters of RAVATHERM XPS 300 SL thermal insulation .
The office building already broke several records during construction, for example the seven 22-meter-high pillars erected at the entrance or the more than 15,000-square-meter, elemental glass facade are among them. The T-Systems company group leases the building, which also defines the image of Budapest, from its subsidiary WING Zrt. Approximately 1,000 specialists, 150 suppliers and subcontractors worked on the huge investment every day for 28 months. When planning the office building, in addition to sustainability, the creation of a creative and inspiring work environment was a main consideration. One very spectacular and useful appearance form of this is the green roof design. In addition to being attractive, it helps with rainwater management, reduces the load on the canals, binds dust and has a beneficial effect on the warming of the environment in summer. The flat roof, on which the green roof was created, should have been made with an inverted layer order. Its great advantage is that it provides great safety and freedom of work organization during construction, or during use, it protects the waterproofing from the risk of damage from possible work on the roof. Special, closed-cell polystyrene foam thermal insulation must be installed in this layering. RAVATHERM XPS provides the thermal protection of the building, supports the weight of the layers above it, in addition to being waterproof and easy to install.
“The world-class building of the Telekom headquarters is a good example of how WING imagines the office buildings of the future.”– stressed Noah Steinberg, the president and CEO of WING Zrt., during the tour. >”In the case of our investments, we consider it important to create quality workplaces in both the literal and figurative sense of the word.”
