Since last autumn the V17 office building has been under construction in Budapest on Váci Road. The 13,000 m2 eco-conscious building has recently been equipped with thermal insulation, including the RAVATHERM XPS closed-cell polystyrene foam products manufactured and marketed by us.
The flat roof and plinth of the building have more than 250 m3 RAVATHERM XPS thermal insulation.
The office building, which is still under construction, is located on Váci Road, next to the Lehel market, and will be fully completed in the second half of next year
The building meets today’s energy requirements as much as possible thanks to the use of modern mechanical and electronic solutions and environmentally friendly building materials.
“Long-term, recyclable materials with minimal environmental impact will be installed in the building and the complex will be BMS-controlled, the operation will be as energy-efficient as possible.” – (wing.hu)
In addition to the roof, the floor and plinth have been given RAVATHERM XPS thermal insulation to ensure the continuity of the thermal envelope of the house. (You can read more about choosing the thickness of the thermal insulation here.) Floors in contact with the ground or unheated floors cause a very significant heat loss in the building.
Well-designed floor insulation is energy efficient, in addition to reducing heat loss, it significantly increases the comfort of the interior. The building with insulated floors makes much more efficient use of the thermal storage capacity of the floor structure. Since the floor must bear the constant and occasionally loads on it, high compressive strength and dimensional stability are essential requirements for thermal insulation. The compressive strength of 300 kPa is able to maintain the weight of the floor in the long term, the weight of the furniture and equipment inside the building.
