Being a significant manufacturer adopting a strong and responsible attitude and acquiring an in-creasingly dominant role in the European market of heat insulation products, we wish to repre-sent, together with all the other XPS heat insulation manufacturers, the principle of permanent sustainability, the mitigation of environment damaging effects, the creation of a healthy habitat and the right for accomplishing such goals. Our membership in EXIBA (EUROPEAN EX-TRUDED POLYSTYRENE INSULATION BOARD ASSOCIATION) will contribute to the achievement of these objectives.
Enhancing popularity of the importance of energy efficiency is the Association’s key objective.
Heat insulation is a tool for sustainable development
During the past decades, the world worked hardly to improve the economic environment and, in particular, to satisfy the social needs. Unfortunately, we paid dearly by having deteriorated our immediate and more distant environment. We all have to work even more persistently in the fore-seeable future as to stop and mend the unfavorable processes.
Sustainable development means satisfaction of current demand without endangering the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We have to identify long-term development solutions suitable for combining economic growth with environment protection and the buildings’ energy efficiency while responding simultaneously to our social needs, as well.
Changes in the environment and climate
We sacrificed, and yet keep sacrificing, our environment on the altar of our projects. Economic growth has heavily depended on the extensive use of fossil energy sources, resulting in increasing CO2 emissions and serious pollution of the atmosphere and in grave consequences to the envi-ronment. Climatic changes are among the most obvious consequences, causing us to experience rising temperatures and sea level, extinction of species, increasingly wild tornados and down-pours, floods and fires, etc.
Energy efficiency: the genuine solution
Apparently, the economic growth and our lifestyle depend on burning fossil energy sources. Our main goal should aim at separating the trends of economic growth and energy utilization, the re-newal and energy modernization of the stock of buildings. Nowadays, buildings are considered the biggest “energy guzzlers”: they consume approx. 40% of the energy used in Europe, with the concomitant emission of harmful substances and greenhouse gases.
XPS – the energy efficiency solution
The XPS heat insulation is the perfect solution in energy efficiency. Every year, several millions of cubic meters of closed-cell polystyrene foam panels are built in buildings erected for the most various purposes. Beyond their several decade long expected life and favorable cycle of utiliza-tion, the considerable decrease of CO2 emission results in a definite contribution to sustainable development.
