Ravago Building Solution’s new high-performance extruded polystyrene (XPS) thermal insulation boards were used in the construction of B&M’s new 1 million sq ft distribution centre in Bedford. ISD Solutions, the cold store specialist contractor, has used 760m³ of Ravatherm XPS X 300 SB in the creation of temperature-controlled zones for chilled and frozen stock.
Ravatherm XPS 300 SB is designed for the thermal insulation of domestic or industrial floors and in basement perimeter walls and have a declared lambda of 0.030 or 0.031 and has a BRE Green Guide Rating A. This new range of XPS insulation board offers a 16% improvement in thermal performance compared to its predecessor and is available in 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 125mm thicknesses with a butt edge profile.
Natalie Sutton, Account Manager, Ravago Building Solutions, said:
“Our range of market-leading XPS insulation offers unparalleled thermal performance and the lower required thicknesses provides for additional design flexibility. Ravatherm XPS X 300 SB combines high compressive strength, low moisture uptake and exceptional lambda values into a product ideally suited for a range of applications including cold stores.”
Richard Bowden, Divisional Director at ISD Solutions, said:
“ISD Solutions is committed to excellence across the board and is keen to raise standards for thermal performance, efficiency and sustainability on the projects on which we work.
