Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA 300 SL
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA 300 SL is a thermal insulation product designed for inverted flat roofs, offering architects and specifiers the thinnest XPS insulation with a design lambda of 0.028 and declared lambda 0.027 W/mK for the whole thickness range from 70 to 205mm.
This high performance flame retarded extruded polystyrene with exceptional lambda insulation performance and a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of less than five. Its exceptional thermal properties give architects additional design flexibility in the construction of energy efficient buildings.
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA 300 SL is a high-performance, multi-purpose polystyrene for the thermal insulation and frost protection of inverted flat roofs, green and blue roofs.
It is manufactured by an extrusion process which results in homogeneous, closed-cell material structure and smooth surface skin (extrusion skin) which has many favourable material characteristics.

Description
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA 300 SL extruded polystyrene thermal insulation can be used in a wide range of applications as a result of the following beneficial properties thanks to its homogeneous, closed-cell material structure:
- permanently high thermal insulation level
- negligible moisture uptake
- high strength and rigidity
- dimensional stability
- resistance to rot and deterioration
- simple and quick installation with only a small amount of waste.
BENEFITS
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA 300 SL thermal insulation is manufactured by extrusion process, resulting in a homogeneous, closed-cell material structure, a smooth surface skin (extrusion skin) which has many favourable material properties:
- permanently high thermal insulation performance
- water and frost resistance
- high compressive strength
- high flexible rigidity
- high vapour diffusion resistance
INVERTED ROOF
A breathable, non-hygroscopic separation layer should be laid down with a 300-mm overlap, between the Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA 300 SL thermal insulation boards, laid in a brick bond pattern without adhesives, and the ballast (generally a layer of gravel). This installation, together with the ballast layer, will provide stability against wind load and uplift.
IMPORTANT
The permanent application temperature of Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA products is. 75°C maximum. At higher temperatures, the boards will start to soften and suffer permanent deformation.
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA products contain an – ecologically safe – flame-retardant additive, as a result of which they will be self-extinguishing under their ignition temperature, however, they will burn if exposed to an intensive ignition source.
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA products are resistant to commonly-used construction materials that don’t contain solvents or softeners (bituminous components without solvents, water-based wall protecting materials, lime, cement, masonry mortars and plasters, anhydrous gypsum etc.).
Certain organic materials, such as solvent-based wood preservatives, paint additives, solvents (acetone, ethyl acetate, kerosene, gasoline etc.) will cause softening, shrinking and damage to the material.
For gluing, solvent-free adhesives must be used. Follow the supplier’s guidance.
Ravatherm XPS X ULTRA products must not be exposed to permanent intensive direct sunlight.
