Effective thermal insulation is an important aspect in the case of refrigeration flooring, in order to ensure the maintenance of the desired permanent indoor temperature, in addition to the need for energy saving.
Given the specificity of the construction and that the thickness of the thermal insulation material exceeds, in many cases 150 mm, the use of high-strength XPS thermal insulation boards is imperative.
The large thickness of thermal insulation required, is provided with a layer of 2 or 3 boards.
The process of production of Ravatherm XPS extruded polystyrene boards, provides us with a homogeneous structure of closed cell material with skin, which has the following characteristics:
• low coefficient of thermal conductivity λ
• high resistance to compression and permanent loads
• high frost resistance
• high resistance to moisture
Ravatherm XPS X 300 SL and Ravatherm XPS X 500 SL extruded polystyrene boards are the ideal materials for the thermal insulation of cold rooms, as they offer:
• High compressive strength (300 or 500 kPa)
• High resistance to permanent loads (130 or 180 kPa)
• High resistance to moisture absorption <1.5%
In cases of higher requirements, Ravatherm XPS X 700 SL extruded polystyrene boards with the following characteristics are recommended:
• High compressive strength (700 kPa)
• High resistance to permanent loads (up to 250 kPa)
