On August 20, the first phase of the Millenáris Széllkapu investment was completed. The renovated park is now 13,000 square feet; it features a 700-square-foot pond, an underground garage, and 355 pre-grown trees that will significantly improve the air quality in the area.
Just like the Millenáris Park, Széllkapu Park is completely accessible, barrier-free. It has a bicycle storage room, a jack station and electric charging stations in 3 different locations. The thermal insulation of the different parts was solved with RAVATHERM XPS.
The Government decided to complete the project in 2013. Work began with the expansion of the Millenáris Park area and its functions, as well as the renovation of the 2.5-hectare neglected area. Size played an important role in the selection of trees in the park (a significant green space was already required for planting), indigenousness and the ability to adapt to the ecological characteristics of the city. They form a total of 17,000 m2 of green space. Ornamental cherry wood, pie, oak, pine, apple, birch and hornbeam can be found there. In addition to these; there are fifty thousand perennials, shrubs, bulbous plants and ornamental grasses. As a result of the investment, a multifunctional community space was created with a diverse flora and a 500-space underground garage under the surface. The park is excellent for pleasant walks, cooling off, and for various leisure programs.
RAVATHERM XPS SL 300 and 500 materials were placed in the side walls and retaining walls of the green roof surface constructions – staircases, catering units.
