Hungary’s agricultural conditions are above average in terms of both topography, climate and soil, which are particularly favorable in both livestock and crop production. Livestock farming is one of the main areas of agriculture, and the increase in living standards across the world is increasingly affecting this activity. One of the pillars of sustainable agriculture is the modern agricultural building, of which professionally applied thermal insulation is an essential part.
Industrial livestock farms are becoming more widespread. Pig farming, which is mainly found in temperate climates, its typical in Hungary. The main objective of livestock rearing is for material gain, but to do so it is necessary to create conditions for the animals to be raised properly and create value for humans.
Farm buildings can be constructed in the traditional way, or with a light-weight construction method (steel structure) typical of our time, which is gradually replacing the old style. However, existing buildings, usually made with traditional technology, are timely and will require renovation. In Mászlonypuszta, near Dombóvár farming dates back to the beginning of the previous century. The basis of agricultural activities here is determined by livestock farming from the outset. Thanks to continuous improvements, the buildings of this pig farm have been renovated and modernized this year, during which the ceiling was insulated with RAVATHERM XPS 300 ST. This special thermal insulation board differs from the usual boards, in that it is almost twice the normal length, and its tongue-and-groove edge design and excellent properties make it one of the most suitable products for the thermal insulation of agricultural buildings.
The thermal insulation of livestock buildings is now inevitable. A properly insulated stable helps to create optimal conditions for raising animals and keeping them healthy. Thermal insulation protects the building and livestock from extreme temperatures both in summer and winter. For the health and development of the animals, it is important to regulate the air quality of the stable, to maintain a high moisture content. Without thermal insulation, condensation may occur at various points in the building. With the professionally installed Ravatherm XPS thermal insulation on the inner side, the risk of condensation is reduced, as it is on the surface of the thermal insulation. Thermal insulation of the right thickness, taking into account the geometric properties of the building, as well as the welfare of the animals, helps to maintain the optimal level of expense.
The surface of the RAVATHERM XPS can reliably resist to long-term stress without extra protection. Its surface can be easily cleaned and disinfected.
Professionally selected and implemented insulation:
- reduces heat loss and saves heating costs
- helps to preserve livestock health
- protects the character of the building
- improves productivity and economy
