The handover of the country’s first skyscraper is due in 2022.

The Mol tower under construction will be Hungary’s first skyscraper. At the end of summer, however, it already reached its final height, so the 143-meter high is already more than half ready. The building boasts not only watch numbers, but also principles of environmental awareness.

The plans for the campus were prepared by the internationally listed Foster + Partners of London and the Hungarian Finta Studio. The 28 floors of the 143-meter-high tower block have a total floor area of 86,000 square meters.

Mol laid the foundations of the building in October 2018, and its construction is currently approximately two-thirds complete. The reinforced concrete structure of the tower building is ready, and the installation of the steel structure of the crown and the installation of the element facade are in progress.

The Mol Campus will be one of Budapest’s most innovative and greenest office buildings, organically fitting into the skyline of the renewed Kopaszi Dam, and with its forward-looking, sustainable and smart solutions, it can become one of the capital’s iconic buildings. The office building will also represent the highest level in terms of energy saving, environmental awareness and sustainability in order to obtain the BREEAM Excellent and LEED Platinum grades.

The Mol Campus will be one of Budapest’s most innovative and greenest office buildings, organically fitting into the skyline of the renewed Kopaszi Dam, and with its forward-looking, sustainable and smart solutions, it can become one of the capital’s iconic buildings. The goal is to achieve the highest possible employee comfort with the smallest ecological footprint, thus demonstrating Mol’s commitment to green values.

The construction time was significantly reduced by the fact that the 2 stiffener cores serving as the structural backbone of the tower were built with an automatic creep formwork system by Market’s subsidiary, Moratus Szerkezetepító Kft. The construction of the 200-ton system was preceded by several months of planning and installation work.

Also in Hungary, the contractor built a 120-meter-high passenger and freight elevator in a unique way, thereby helping the structural and facade construction works. To clean the facade, the plans include the construction of an almost 80-ton crane structure at the very top of the tower.
Due to the work being carried out at height, a unique technology in Hungarian high-rise construction, an automatic wind shield system, had to be used.

The Mol tower block under construction at the Kopaszi Dam has reached its peak.
